Meet ‘Avatar,’ Tattoo-Faced Underdog of the Czech Presidential Election

I know nothing of Czech politics other than the locals feel it’s too corrupt; heard the same in Romania. The Czech revolution was soft; the Romanian version arrived with much blood.

US politics is like living in Bill Murray’s Groundhog day, w/either side assuming the other is bonkers and completely polarized.

The Italian and French gov’t’s appear to still fear the people and the Maltese just make their elections one big series of arguments, then fests, throughout the island.

But here in Bohemia its become kinda kafkesque. Vladimir Franz, the tattooed composer is polling strongly in Czech elections, currently in third position. What a bizarre image, what an interesting package; part Kafkesque, part Havel, part surreal.
