Silwan, Jerusalem (SILWANIC) —
A Palestinian fruit shop was demolished by Jerusalem Municipality bulldozers on Monday, 27 August, in East Jerusalem. Shop owner Ismail Mahmoud Jaber was told by Israeli forces that he had no permit for the shop before he and his sons were assaulted by officers.
Jaber told Silwanic that the officials arrived with the bulldozers arrived at dawn, ordering his sons Muhammad and Malek out of the shop before demolishing it. His sons were not allowed anytime to remove the produce from the shop before its destruction.
The shop, originally constructed from found materials, was built on land that has belonged to his son Mahmood for the last two years.
